Returning running shoes: FAQ
Who pays for return shipping?
Varies by brand. Some cover it, others deduct a label fee from your refund. Check before you order if you plan to use a trial program.
How long do refunds take?
Two to four weeks end to end, depending on the brand. Most of that is return transit and card processing; the refund itself is usually issued within days of the warehouse receiving the shoes.
Do I need to keep the shoe box?
Yes. Send back both shoes and any accessories in the original box, and keep everything until you are sure the shoes are staying.
When does the trial window start?
It usually starts at delivery time. But check the specific brand policy to be sure. Shoes that sit in the box for three weeks leave one week of testing on a 30-day trial, so start running in them as soon as they arrive.
Does it matter where I buy?
Usually yes. Trial run programs cover orders placed directly with the brand; buy from a retailer and the store's policy applies instead. Brooks is the partial exception: most running stores can honor the Run Happy Promise, but confirm before you buy.
