Privacy Policy

shoedemo.ca is a directory of running shoe demo events. This policy covers what we collect, who handles it, and how to have it removed.

What we collect

Site analytics. We use Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to measure traffic. These set cookies and collect your IP address, approximate location, device type, pages visited, and referring site. We use this only in aggregate to decide what to build, and not to identify individual visitors. See how Google uses this data, or opt out with Google’s browser add-on. The site works normally either way.

Digest subscriptions. Your email address and chosen cities, used only to send the weekly digest. Every email has an unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately.

Event submissions. The event details you provide. Your email address is optional and, if given, is used only to follow up on that submission. It is never added to the digest list.

Who else handles it

We use service providers to host the site, store listings and submissions, and deliver the digest. They act only on our instructions and cannot use the information for their own purposes. Some store data outside Canada, where data protection laws may differ from those in your province.

We do not sell or trade personal information, and we do not share subscriber lists with brands, retailers, or event organizers, including those who submit their own events.

Keeping and removing it

Unsubscribing stops the emails immediately. We keep a record that you unsubscribed so that you are not added back, and we keep submissions for as long as the listing stays part of the directory record. If you want your information deleted outright, ask us and we will remove it.

To see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, email hello@shoedemo.ca and we will respond within 30 days.

If we change this policy we will update the date below, and tell digest subscribers if the change is a material one.
